First off I just have to say a huge thank you to Andrew, the pilot, for giving me the opportunity to see a huge part of the coastline south of Sydney from the helicopter.
This was simply the most amazing photographic experience of my life! I was just in complete awe at how beautiful this coastline looks from the air. I mean we surf every week here and I even swim out there with my camera these days but I have never ever seen anything like this place from the air! You can see every reef, every wave and beach and just about everything else from up there! Simply incredible. We passed over surfers tackling all sorts of reefs, some miles off the coast! I couldn’t really believe that some of these guys were paddling out that far to score these waves. We took off at Bankstown airport in Sydney and headed south over Stanwell National Park and south past Wollongong.
I have another gallery of photos from my trip in the chopper to come later in the week. I hope you enjoy these. I don’t think any photograph could do it justice. I still can’t believe it.
