The 30th of July 2011 to be exact! That is practically half a year but hey that is life. I have been shooting the whole time but just not posting much as I had been working around the clock really. I just arrived in Ireland Monday and it has been pissing rain most of the time. I’ve still been out and taking photos around Cork with my Leica. Here are some from the market yesterday. There really was an amazing sky tonight over Sydney. After I went for a surf I drove up to North Head and snapped a few photos. There was a guy using one of those new medium format Pentax 645 camera (considered mugging the guy)!!! It’s a lump of a camera! I was still enjoying Kris’s 5D MarkII. The sky really was incredible! It changed threw about 10 colours in 15 minutes. Off to have dinner! Enjoy the photos.

Really fun time at a mid year Christmas themed birthday celebration for Ryan. Really good laugh. Really enjoyed using the Canon 5D MII for this and just leaving the 50mm 1.2 wide open. If you have a 1.2 you don’t use it at anything OTHER than f1.2 I reckon hehe….. Beautiful lens. Love it.

I have not posted in YONKERS!!! Oops! Been busy with work and the photos were put on the back burner. It’s my blog so I guess I can do what I like ;) haha …. We had a great trip up to the North Coast od NSW, almost a month ago now. Here is the first set of photos from the trip. We had so much fun up there and actually getting to surf was great this time! This last time time I was on crutches with ligament damage. Felt good to get out there surfing this time around. Stunning place. Great time with friends. Off to bed!! Enjoy the photos……… Ciao

I was playing around with some photos from the last few days. Had some fun with black and white post processing and here are a few photos I think worked out. The cover shot is a photo I really like. This guy practically ran me over and with the sun behind him I wanted to throw this through black and white processing as soon as I took it to be honest. I like the lack of detail on the surfer and then the tight detail on the water spraying up from the board.

Plenty surf around…. so I was slow to pick up the camera this weekend. I just surfed instead! I think I deserved all the surf I could get this weekend :)

I took these photos when I was down at Jervis Bay with friends. Anybody that does not believe Dolphins are amazing leave my blog now! ha ha. Well actually everything in the sea amazes me (yes sharks included!! slightly obsessed!!). Amazing creatures and I’ve been to Jervis Bay twice now. Both times I’ve seen loads of dolphins. If you get to Jervis bay book yourself onto the Whale watching or dolphin tours. We didn’t get to see Whales this time but I still had a right good time. Be warned if you have a bad stomach then maybe avoid it, plenty people spewing up down the back in the 4 metre seas!!

Most of the photos shot at 1/2500th of a second ISO 200 to allow for the faster shutter. I was attempting to grab the droplets and I think I managed it! Most were shot at f3.2 for a nice depth of field! My favourite is it even managed to capture the shadows of the droplets as they fly past the dorsal fin.

Here are some more water shots from the weekend around the Northern Beaches! I love winter! Some real size in the surf these days! Seems to thin out the crowds a little bit as well which is always nice. Considering a trip north pretty soon! I’ll have to see if I can recruit some of the lads for it.

It’s always a real rush swimming with my camera. The surf has been pretty good for the last few weeks, so any chance I get I’m on it!!! Here are some trippy under water photos form Whale beach last weekend! Had one of the most fun surfs I’ve had in a few years on the Sunday! so good to be out there with all the lads and trading waves. So much fun to be back swimming with the water housing again! I was pretty slow to get back in the water with the camera as my ankle is still not 100%. The fins put a fair bit of extra pressure on it but it felt good so hoping to get back in the water with the camera a bit more now!
